Introduction
The fusion of narrative and technology has given rise to a new form of immersive cinematic experience. The mission of this festival is to deliver “immersive emotion” — a transformative encounter where story and technology intertwine.
The term “immersive”, meaning “deeply engaging” or “enveloping”, has become a defining keyword in today’s art and entertainment scene. Around the world, major film festivals have launched new sections dedicated to immersive works. The Cannes Film Festival also inaugurated its “Immersive Selection” last year.
From the official selections of Cannes and Venice, we present the latest and most innovative immersive films.
Through the harmonious interaction of story, technology, and human creativity, new emotional experiences are born—transcending borders, time, and space.
TOKYONEXT Selection (Special Exhibition)
A showcase introducing technologies that are expected to drive the next generation of immersive filmmaking. Cutting-edge immersive research from Japan and abroad will converge here.
